John's '48 Pontiac

John brought in his Pontiac for some flames to compliment the older, but nice paint already on his car. He gave me some parameters, but mainly let me have my go at the colors. I ended up choosing a silver metallic that I felt would fit the magenta. I then chose a pearl white to fade in over the tips to help contrast the colors form the body and give the flames some life. The layout was done by Harry of Flyin' Eye Kustoms in North Jersey as I feel he does the traditional flames quite well. After laying down the silver and the white fades . I shot silver pearl over the entire flame layout to give it some added pop in the sunlight. John was very happy with the car when he picked it up after not really knowing what the flames or colors were going to look like. He has since contacted me about some future work and has reported the Pontiac winning quite a few trophies including Best of Show and Best Paint.
