John's '47 Ford
John bought this car basically in the shape I got it in. The car had been put together and sold as a resto-rod. John was trying to bring it into the kustom genre. For the most noticeable modification, we ditched the stock grill in favor of a 1950 Plymouth unit and molded the fenders to mimic the lines of it. We also frenched the headlights the old fashioned way by using the stock rings and flipping the buckets. The front end was completed by filling the fender seams and frenching in a power antenna. We then shaved the mirrors and door handles, along with rounding all four trunk corners. The taillights got the treatment as well by dropping them 2 inches further down the fender and frenching them. A frenched license plate was also inserted into the trunk. The body was then gone over with any overlooked rot being cut out and replaced. John's not done yet though, future plans include molded rear fenders, molded front and rear pans with stock bumpers, and some nice shiny paint.
