57Joe's '57 Ford
Joe and I have been friends for many years, so when he asked me for some advice on re-doing the paint and body on his car I told him to bring it on down! Rather than talk him through it over the phone, I could lend a hand and some tools for him at the shop. Joe's car has been together for a long time and has always looked good. But it can (and will) be way better. The old bodywork done by a PO was about as wavy as the ocean and some of it was starting to show through. What started out as a quick going over and spray, quickly turned into a mini project. I talked Joe into molding the whole front end together, and using his stockpiled '58 Edsel Wagon tailights. Paint ais a kandy teal basecoat with a kustom mixed doublemint pearl white for the scallops. The car debuted at Detroit Autorama 2010 and won the Alexander Brothers Award, as well as getting lots of attention from the crowd and an invite to the Showcase of Kustoms show in Long Beach, CA.
