2 weeks ago, while most of you were out barbequeing and celebrating Memorial Day, we were in the shop sniffing pait fumes... It is blaaaack. Matt has already seen it and loves how black it is. We are in the process of buffing it out right now and hope to be delivering the body for Matt to drop onto his completed rolling chassis within the next few days. I'll post another update once the body and rest of the items are all painted and buffed. Talk soon.

Joe Siclari for his '57 Ford, The Pearl Necklace! Well, we made it to Detroit with only minutes to spare. After putting the finishing touches on the car Wednesday night, we loaded up and hit the highway at 12:30am. Despite driving 100 miles through near blizzard conditions, the trip was uneventful. The car showed very well and picked up the Alexander Brothers Builder's Choice Award as well as an invite to the Showcase of Kustoms in Long Beach, CA in September.

Sorry for the lack of updates lately, we've been so busy in the shop I haven't had the time. This is one BIG update though. Joe's '57 Ford went from still needing metalwork to paint in a little over 2 weeks. Between Russ, Joe, and I, we have over 300 hours in this thing in the new year alone! Once again proving that if you can dream it, chances are we can make it happen. Here at Moonlite Kustom, we are never on break. There's still lots of work left to do, but this was one MAJOR hurdle. The pics themselves do all the talking. Enjoy and stay tuned for updates we color sand and buff, put the car back together and get it out in the sun for the kandy and pearl to shine, plus an update on Tindall's Model A to follow (we haven't forgotton about it.) Talk soon.

Merry Christmas!

I finally figured a way to get some pics on here so I updated. We are about a day or so away from primer on this body. Russ and I got the firewall all fixed up and have been working filler all over the place. Hopefully by the time the holidays are over we'll have this thing green! Joe is also back with us and he started back on his Ford this weekend. We are hoping for paint for that one by the first week in January. That's all for now, I'm off to Texas for the holidays so Merry Christmas form Moonlite Kustoms!

Out Sick!

Been awhile since we have updated. My computer has been down for the count so while progress has been made, it has not made it over the phonelines just yet. Hopefully Santa will bring me a new one and allow me to pull all my pictures off the old one. So for now all you get is a written update and no pretty pictures to stare at. The good news is that Matt and his father visited his Model A this weekend and have given it a thumbs up thus far. Also, Russ (who has been helping out on and off lately) has officially joined us in the quest as we are busier than we have ever been. Hopefully, pics soon.

Bare Body

Tindall had his body blasted before he dropped it off, which is the biggest blessing any painter can have. However it had a bit of surface rust on it from the rain on Sat. A quick few minutes with the stripping wheel gave me a chance to start fresh and to really see what was going on with the body. The real work begins this weekend when we break out the hammers and dollies. Talk soon.

Another Satisfied Customer

Matt and his Dad came by today to pick up the frame and suspension pieces and to drop off the body. I finshed all the buffing this week so all that was left to do was to load it up. They were both very pleased with the frame and are excited about the body, as am I. Now starts the real fun. More pics and some progress next week. Talk soon.

Back to Work!

After taking last weekend off for the Carlisle swap and a benefit show put on by the American Cruisers, I came back and hit it hard this week. Starting with Tindall's frame, I got it all prepped and decided to spray it in two shots. This way I good get good coverage into all the nooks and crannies from underneath, and then flip it and back tape it to get the top and sides nice and glossy!

I also snuck some time in on Joe's Ford. I got one of the fins all welded up and ground so he could see what it is going to look like. The more I look at it, the more I think we hit the proportions right on the head! Hopefully we'll both be able to keep picking away at it over the next few months and have it ready for Detroit 2010.

I'll Paint It Any Color You Want, As Long As Its Black

Got a bunch more done on Tindall's coupe this week. I was able to get some paint on the front axle as you can see and got started on the frame. The new rails required a little bit of work before its time to spray some paint on them. I smoothed out the motor mounts to make them appear as one piece and evened out the rest of the frame. Should get spraying on it this week. See more pics here. Talk soon.

Just got going on this one last week. Today we got the rear, backing plates, and hairpins done. Last week we tackled all the small suspension pieces. Next week its on to the front axle and frame and then the body after Matt comes to pick this stuff up to start assembling.
